Re: TRADE: Jumbo sousaphone for Jumbo sousaphone

You’re unlikely to find a 4v King Jumbo, most - if not all - were built as a 3v and only for a few years until HN White superseded it with the King Giant. I think only two of the 4v Jumbos were made - we don’t have actual records, only some visual and word of mouth records. One is owned by Purdue Un ...

Glendale, AZ - Pre-WWII Sousaphone Case

Practically never see these! I'm close by and could, probably maybe, fit this into my car. The seller has two available.

WTB - King Rotary Tuba & Other Oddities

After a bit of a hiatus, and selling the vast majority of my instruments to stay afloat, I'm now in a position to reacquire some oddities. In order of likelihood... 1. First to find is a King BBb rotary tuba - preferably one of the Pit tubas. I desperately miss the silver beast I sold a long while ...

Frankentubas in AZ

After a rather long hiatus, I’m back to playing…

While at the Flagstaff, AZ TubaChristmas, I heard that there’s a guy in the area that builds frankentubas - anyone know of this person and can get me in connect with them?

I have some designs in mind, but no area to work on them.

Just inserted, I was going to use the tenon off of the recording bell.

King 1240 - $850 - Scottsdale, AZ

Been a while and have done zero playing, so it’s time to move on with some hobbies… I have a King 1240 that I bought from someone else on here last year or this year - I can’t remember. Anyway, picked it up and it’s sat around collecting dust. Thought I would get back into playing, but it just hasn’t ...

I owned this horn before selling it to Tyler. I have some of-questionable-quality videos of it somewhere.

https://www.descamusic.com/ Desca - had one after the percussionist told me to get one. Works great! How tall does it get? I didn't see that spec on their site. I looked to and don't see it listed but there are a couple of pictures with the owner standing in front of what looks to be a fully ...

Auction only (I try not to post those, fwiw). Looks like it needs a valve job. Not sure who can do that now that Anderson has stopped offering that valve service. https://i.ebayimg.com/images/g/OJ4AAOSwNZFhXKOD/s-l1600.jpg Dan Oberloh, but I think he's three times the cost that ASP was. The Conn-Selmer web site lists the King 1135 as being “designed for young students” and having the leadpipe “appropriately placed”. Any thoughts on using this horn for a basically normal sized adult looking for a smaller, lighter horn? Would said adult find the proportions and leadpipe placement dif ...
