I've tried a number of different mouthpieces on my Mack Brass 410. I've settled on an RT-44. The exception is if I have a particularly high piece to play, I'll use the RT-36. If there's a piece that stays really low, I'll use the RT-50.
Hope that helps.

Re: Wessex Mahler VS Wessex Anton
I think some of the older more-sought-after 186's had a slightly smaller bell than the present 186's. I think I read where Johnathan was trying to emulate that. Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.

Re: Wessex Mahler VS Wessex Anton
I have a Mack 410 and like it a lot. The Mack 410 has a slightly larger bell than the Mahler and I'm told it has a bit more mellow tone. Intonation is very good.
I played an Anton in the Chicago showroom last year. I really liked the tone (I'm guessing more American) but I couldn't get it to play ...

Tell me more. I've been there via motorcycle before and have stopped by the closed border this year. Did you mean if I had been going by road I could have gone.LeMark wrote: Sat Sep 05, 2020 10:59 am Nope, with the exception if you are heading to Alaska via the roads

The Pope being German, maybe a little "PDQ Bach" thing with a polka band sound in the middle would have roused his spirits a bit.bort2.0 wrote: Tue Aug 25, 2020 9:02 pm I thought it was great!
The pope seems hard to impress though...

Our little 25 member Jordan Valley Community Band this summer. It was the only band that played this summer where I live.
That's me with the hat and white beard. Yes, that's a lot of tuba for a small band, and, yes, we let the bass clarinet play with us on "Tiptoe Through the Tubas." She made us ...

Really impressive. Almost makes me go to church again. Although, I get tired of seeing all the cracks in the walls.

Re: BBb or CC
I played BBb in high school and part of college, then switched to CC because "I was told to", and most of major players and teachers (in the early 70s) played CC. I found that I was much more agile and better sounding on the CC, even when I played BBb during all my public school teaching years. In ...
