Re: Setting a tuba or euph on its bell…

I have always heard that setting a tuba or euphonium with vertically positioned valves (top banger) on it's bell will allow dirt, grime and fluids, to make their way to the top (guide area/felts/top caps) of the valves when upside down. Briefly, at rehearsal likely not an issue. Longer term ...

Re: Preferred mouthpiece?

We all know tuba mouthpieces are expensive, the safari often centered around more recently acquired horns. Problem is, if you unload a bunch of currently unused pieces, with the next acquisition the cycle starts again. I went with the unload approach as I am not currently looking at getting any more ...

Re: Contemplateing a tuba...

I was very much in your situation as someone with ingrained trumpet fingerings but a fluent knowledge of reading the notes themselves in TC and BC as a piano player. A switch shortly after HS to Euphonium had me reading mostly TC parts for convenience. When I moved to Tuba later on in life, I chose ...

Re: FS: Houser Sellsmanberger Lightweight Finger Buttons

I have a set of these on my Wisemann and enjoy both the look and feel of them. I've also received a number of "really nice, where'd you get those?" comments.

Re: WTB: Roylance TDC Medium-Euro

Not a help, I know.... but I have an original Roylance and a TDCM-M (American shank). These MPs light up my CCs, provide range and articulation like no other!

Re: FS: Conn 2J CC Tuba $900 OBO

I have a 2J in very rough cosmetic shape which I am not playing currently and the valves are in excellent shape with minimal wear. If anyone is interested, please PM me for pictures and we can discuss a price for just the valves. I'd be happy to ship those, but not the whole horn. Here's the ...

Re: Beautiful Bach 36B Frankenbone, new Protec Max gig bag

I am unsure about the value of this "Instrument of the Devil" compared with what I paid originally and what else is out there on the market. Thus, a price drop bump to 500. OBO + shipping. If no action here in the next few weeks I'll get it on the Bay. Thanks for looking!

Beautiful Bach 36B Frankenbone -- SOLD

Some 5 years back, I decided to take up trombone with the goal of occasional doubling. I purchased this locally from a freelance musician and have decided that in light of other instruments I play much better, this really nice vintage bone has to go and get some use. The case/gig bag is new and has ...

MTS Large Frame Case for 188 or similar (Like New)

I have a "like new" MTS large frame case which came with my M-188. It still has that new scent inside and would be perfect for someone who lives in proximity to Tampa, FL, and prefers the protection that such a hard case offers. Personally I prefer a gig bag. With wheels for rolling transport, these ...

Re: Vintage 188

no case or bag, needs a fair amount of work, has had a fair amount of work... I'd be interested but not at that number. Exactly, telling it like it is. I've always felt if you really want to sell something, it should be priced a the point where bargaining is not necessary. Just put what you are ...
