I think a Holton TR180 would be right up your alley (earlier models had 9.5" bells, and later models 10" if memory serves me correctly). Underrated bass bones for sure, and I've seen them go in the $1000-1500 range often. Perhaps slightly on the high side for your budget. Leadpipe replacement ...
