Clueless conductor looks at back row in disgust... I specifically asked for the BIG tuba.

The photos of the CC are kind of deceiving, it makes it look like a much smaller tuba. The BBb photos show the full glory!

If that CC is the 5/4-ish sized tuba, that's a great deal

Loved this tuba! It turned heads (the good version) and it helped me sound better than I deserve to sound.

If not for the twists and turns of life, I never would have sold it. And if not for sudden and prolonged un-/under-employment, I would have bought it back long ago.

Maybe something like an Olds 99? I had one of these like 30.years ago and obviously didn't keep it ...

There was someone here (or there…) that ordered, received, and shared about some replacement linkages, paddles, etc. from them. To me, they looked nothing like what I had ever seen on any of their instruments I’d ever seen. So, what? I don’t know. A pattern? Just thought it was weird.

For me, the Miraphone 187 is just about as exciting as the Meinl Weston 25. That's not a put-down, but I'm not sure it's a compliment either. :laugh:

The 188 is quite likely my favorite overall tuba, and I thoroughly enjoy the tight wrap and supreme ergonomics. The 187 has more tubing so it ...

Side note -- those are two VERY nice looking tubas.

20+ years ago, I went to a very small TubaChristmas event, must've been about 12 people (I think it was their first year). The playing was pretty average overall, but I distinctly remember there was one person there absolutely smoking the low ...
