Looks great! But I'm a BBb player in community band, not a CC player in an orchestra. Between making room for the tuba, sousaphone, euph, about ten upper brass, numerous guitars, electric and acoustic, many electric basses, amplifiers, cabinets, keyboards, etc., I have no more room for an instrument such as this. I'm sure it will sell quickly.

Geez, at $700, do you think it really exists?

It if did, it could be one of those “profitable purchases of opportunity.”

Why are these so cheap? Are they that much worse than the real thing, like awful can't-be-fixed vavles or something?

I usually see them go for around $1k-1.5k used. This is the cheapest one I've seen, but the guy has a playing demo video and it does work. I honestly think they're great if you can get over the noisy/cheap Chinese linkage. I have owned three or four of them, and played a solo with band with one a few years ago. The intonation is generally excellent.

If these were upgraded with European quality or at least Eastman/JP quality linkage, they'd be a no-brainer.

At this price, I think it's a great deal. At the very least, someone could make a couple hundred bucks on it if they wanted. Plus the Miraphone gig bag, very nice.
