strap/harness for a 2XJ

Post by splat »

hi!

i am looking around for ways to do some standing/roving/marching with a conn 2XJ, ideally without reinvtenting the wheel.

i've seen mention of Jacksonville State marching with 20Js with 'drum straps and carabiners', and i have seen the neotech tuba harnesses online.

does anyone have advice?

thanks!

I use the Neotech Holster Harness with mine

Here is me getting ready for a street band gig wearing it.

As someone that did this for 4 years. It is a cheap, reliable way to do exactly what you want. However, I am relatively certain that it has caused me shoulder problems.

Love this picture of those two guys in the foreground channeling their inner 8-year old.
Evokes fond memories of all manner of gleeful boyhood hijinks and pastimes.

That's why we do it. It is a volunteer charity band and we raise money for the local children's hospital. If it isn't fun we don't take the gig. The group has been really successful, over $120,000 raised for the Ronald McDonald House of Central Ohio in the last 3 years. Next two years are dedicated to Children's Hospital mental health services and outreach.
