> nickel silver mouthpipe tube
> nickel silver tube between 4th rotor and main slide
> all nickel silver valve casings (including their barrels, and not just the fixed top bearings)
> elongated and lightweight (Miraphone-like) nickel silver spatulas
> vertical-and-rotation-adjustable thumb ring
> non-tilt screws used with the (previously onboard) lightweight (aluminum) Minibal links
...and (though I always thought these were "good") this one plays SO VERY well (and only 32-1/2" tall), that I'm beginning to wonder why I'm going to the trouble to build my cute little Holton B-flat tuba...(see repairs forum)
This is ABSOLUTELY a LIFETIME tuba...and not some "disposable" nor "this will do for now" tuba.
Further, "for the price" is not a phrase that needs to be added on past the phrase "very good".

Stop it, just stop it. I already have one of these (thanks to Bloke). There’s no way I can justify purchasing another!

Am thinking of the JP379CC - are those improvements likely to be on that model as well?

Re: noted upgrades on received-today John Packer JP379B
I never receive notifications of improvements… I just see the improvements... and I only see them when I order the instruments sent directly to our store, rather than dropshipped to customers.
Typically, we have the “open box” show instruments shipped to us first, so we can clean them up before shipping to end-users.
I don’t know of anything that could be done to soup up the Swiss-style C tuba.
It’s so very similar to those instruments in every way, that if someone likes the Swiss-style model, I don’t see any reason to not buy the JP instead.

Joe,
THAT is a beauty of a horn. I've played the old model (thanks, RonR) and like it a lot; these improvements only up the ante.
Certainly a more versatile bet for the retirement years than my 103.
