It's an older tuba, but it's a beautiful condition, Raw brass. Beautiful patina and looks amazing if that's the look you like. And it's definitely a look that I like.

Those sound like really reasonable and priced-to-sell prices, even without the provenance.
I sold a nice condition/really nice-playing Rudy 5/4 for about that price, and its only provenance was “it’s mine, and I bought it from another guy”.

Hello,
The 6450 has been sold.
After going backward on date's I believe this tuba is a late 60's 5/4 Rudi. What I remember is Bob Tucci played the tuba then Dan Perantoni brought it to the US in the late 60"s. At that time I was helping Fred out at Custom music. I then sold it to John Mac Enulty principal tuba in the St. Louis Symphony. John purchased the tuba and played it for a few years. Unfortunately John ended up getting Bell's palsy. I purchased the tuba from John in 1983.
I took the horn to Mirafone in LA to replace the old clunky linkages. They are now smooth and quiet. The tuba received a new lead pipe a couple years before I switched to my HB-50. I played the tuba a solid 15 years. There is no wear on top of the slides I always used a black towel in my left hand to protect the finish and the leather in the pictures for the palm of my hand.
I did not not have to move slides on the tuba, it does have a factory 2nd valve trigger that works great.
The tuba does have more dents in the bottom bow than I thought after removing my leather. My great artist/repair person Bill Meyers in St. Louis ,MO cleaned the horn last week.No buffing just cleaning. It has few dents in the bottom bow.
I am not the best at downloading pictures. Please email me for pictures. The sound of this horn is awesome! Rudi's have a great sound and have treated me well! I have a 3/4, 4/4 and my 5/4.
Please let me know if you have any more questions.
Thanks,
Steve

It's a BEAUTIFUL raw brass Rudy 5/4. Gorgeous in the way it looks, and for sure, in the way it sounds.
