Re: Bach Strad 50B bass trombone $1,800
This is actually more than a 50B, as a 50B is a single-rotor.
Dr. Rom's instrument is a TWO rotor (dependent system) instrument.
I believe that his instrument is actually a model 50B2O, with an open-wrap F attachment.
Additionally, a (popular, these days) longer slide (for the dependent rotor) would not be expensive to purchase.

Also, the case seems (??) to be in really nice condition.
Often, when an instrument's case is in nice shape, the instrument itself is as well.
' looks to be a good buy...
...at least worth a drive to check it out, imo...

Re: Bach Strad 50B bass trombone $1,800
thanks guys for the opinions... yes.. it is in great shape... I haven't played it in a while so I'm sure it needs a good cleaning and lubing up.
I have used this in a number of big band performances and while doubling in the Nutcracker. It's a nice player.
PM if interested.
THANKS!

If only that horn's G valve section weren't dependent. Darn.Octavelower wrote: ↑Fri Feb 12, 2021 11:34 am thanks guys for the opinions... yes.. it is in great shape... I haven't played it in a while so I'm sure it needs a good cleaning and lubing up.

When we all aren't sequestered, I have the privilege of working with this gent for a few services, each year.
He prefers dependent.
Before Michael Rath gave him this dependent bass, he played a Bach dependent bass.

It’s just that a #2 in-line rotor offers some advantages, and dependent #2 rotor offers other advantages (including one less primary bore distortion).
The one for sale in this thread is dependent.
