Travelin’ Light Transcriptions

Post by matt g »

Someone transcribed the lead sheets off of Sam Pilafian’s album. Thought someone here might be interested.

For sure. If people are feeling so inclined, they can pass him a few dollars for his troubles.

ETA: I just sent $5 to this gentleman using Venmo. Super easy.

Good stuff! Thanks for the link, Matt!

Note: The transcriber uses the half-flat symbol. There may be other nontraditional notation, as well. (I have not yet really looked this material over.)

The half-flat is a backward flat symbol, and it means to bend the tone down a quarter step, or 50¢ — use the normal fingering and lip the pitch way down. Listen to Sam's album to see what the transcriber is trying to tell you to do.

Oh, and good luck with the solos, folks…

As did I. Pardon my ignorance but what does ETA stand for in this setting? I guessing it’s not “estimated time of arrival” but I kinna figure what it means otherwise.
