Re: New Tuba at Last!
That’s just them renaming the fourth valve as a valve that puts the bugle in Bb (BBb). Similar to a register key operates on a woodwind in nomenclature.

It’s about 4’ 6” of pipe needed. That coils up pretty quickly in a tuba.Three Valves wrote: ↑Fri Apr 30, 2021 11:59 am I've heard about the 4th putting Eb to BBb but that don't look like 6ft of pipe!!

Unless I'm missing something, the main reason you can't see the 4th valve tubing very easily, is because there's no 4th valve. I don't know when the 4th valve became standard on Eb tubas, but it was many years after 1905.

When I'm down that way, I'm like Tim. Focus on the drive, because everything is far between. Maybe Culver's? Not because it's amazing, but because it's nostalgic, and there aren't many in the TC.
Or the occasional Casey's pizza/STH pilgrimage. Again, nostalgia...
There's a good sized Culver's on Silver Lake Road in St. Anthony, S of New Brighton. Between your new place and Ronr. And it's almost Lemon Ice season!
