Brett,
So you've had it more than 24 hours - how about a first impressions test drive report?

Brett, I really admire your passion for tubas. And, your good-sport ability to endure gentle, well-intentioned ribbing from the Board. Does your passion for instruments extend to other horns? Do you own and/or like to play trumpets, French horns, trombones, euphoniums?

Best, Ace

Ace, I think in all places in my life (family, work, school, band, etc...) I'm always the subject of well-intentioned ribbing. I'm just an easy target, I suppose. :) And I'm not averse to some self-deprecating humor, so it all works out. :)

I own one bass trombone, which I bought last fall and never even touched... so I'm getting ready to sell it. A little bummed because it's a beauty and it's something that I've always wanted to try and learn. Unfortunately... I think it was more fun to shop for the horn than it was to own it. Because I have almost zero time to play it, and the money would be a lot more useful. Oh well!

Other than that, it's just me and the Alex and the 20J.

If I had the $ for it, I'd own WAY more horns... but I also know that I'm NOT a collector, not even a little bit. If there is redundancy or if things don't get used, they're out of here. Even mouthpieces, I only own a couple of them. I can't stand having more stuff than I actually use/need, my brain can't handle it and can't forget it even if I try!

I don't know what blissful paradise you all live in, but it's gonna be a while. :) I literally never played that bass trombone I bought a while ago (zero notes), because there is zero time to play. Maybe 30 minutes on the Alex in the past ... 10 months? It's just not realistic, my time is not my own. I'll try it out eventually. But it's gonna be a while.
