Salvation Army March Low Brass Ensemble

Post by Kontrabasstuba »

The march Troops Salute by Paul Sharman is a great example of great Salvation Army music. Played by Dutch euphonium/baritone player Jorijn van Hese and Daniel Ridder tuba. Thanks to Marcel Boom, Jorijn van Hese for the great work in sound and video.

The problem with the super low stuff like that, is that you need a strong player to play with to cover the octaves.

Usually, I have found myself to be either the only tuba player in a band, or the only strong tuba player, or a second player (or conductor) who wants both players on the bottom.

Daniel has found the optimal solution. :)

Side note: these big BBb tuba sounds are absolutely killing me! :tuba:
