Hi all,
My son and I dropped in on the C. G. Conn mansion on Strong Avenue in Elkhart a few weeks ago. And while we didn't see any tubas (dang!), we were shown some wonderful Conn treasures.
Here's my blog post on the visit: http://tubapastor.blogspot.com/2021/07/ ... khart.html
Enjoy!
Dave

If any tubas/sousaphones there, they would be covered with heavy black tarnish, and hanging from bailing wire out the carriage house...yes?
kidding aside...
Thanks for the report - and the "nudge".
I'll be up there (and - perhaps - Mrs. bloke) in a month or so...and had no idea that this tour was available.

Thank you Dave. Very interesting, as is all of your research. I live in SoCal, you should have stopped by.
Some old Yorks, Martins, and perhaps a King rotary valved CC

Well, just to be clear, this wasn't a planned "tour"! It was, ahem, an invasion of privacy that turned into a delightful visit!
