Mirafone oval baritone for sale. No model number on the instrument, but the 290mm bell diameter seems to indicate a connection to the current Miraphone 54L. Was chemically cleaned/serviced around this time last year and has seen good use since then...so if you're a yearly cleaner it is due for another.
Been using it for Oktoberfest gigs for at least 7-8 years, and recently switched to a Weltklang (B&S). Ovals are a blast to play. Fun player, great sound, and of course the usual tuning quirks that ovals have...a couple alternate fingerings do the trick...and beer also makes it better!
Price now $1050, and will include a new Miraphone mouthpiece AND a Bach 5 that works pretty well on it. Get it now before the Oktoberfest gigs start!!!
If anyone would be interesting in doing a franken-experiment with pistons - on this body/bell, I'd be interested in buying the rotary valveset and linkage.

I'd probably have jumped at this already if I hadn't bought that fine Roaring Twenties' Conn baritone that Bloke fixed up a few months ago.
F in the staff is rather sharp (common trait for all of the ovals I have owned). I use fourth rotor to compensate for that and it has worked well for me. D above middle C is also flatter than usual, so I use 1+2 for that one. The way I tune it, I also need to lip down the Eb in the staff slightly...though I could probably just ride the first tuning slide as I'm playing. Outside of those troublesome pitches, everything else can easily be taken care of with minor embouchure adjustments. Lower register isn't very usable (wouldn't count on much below C3). Definitely takes some practice to tame the horn, but worth it...and loads of fun!
