SOLD: Willson 2975 Euphonium

Post by Eric Murphy »

Hello,

I have a Willson 2975 euphonium that I would like to sell. This is the 4 valve compensating front action model. My daughter has been using it for band this summer, but she prefers her Besson. I replaced the original leadpipe with a new nickel silver leadpipe from Willson. It is lacquered and comes with an Altieri gig bag and it's original hardshell case (not pictured). I like to use it,, but have come to the realization that the groups I play with need me on tuba more than euphonium. I am located in Northwestern IL. I am asking $3000 plus shipping.

Thanks!
Eric

I would like to point out that this is a "Marzan" Willson euphonium. Four front-action pistons and an upward-pointing MTS...!!...

When you get bored, you can try fitting your head between the pistons and the bottom bow. :)

Lovely euphonium! MADE for tuba players!

This must have bridged the gap between the original Marzan euphs (which were made by Willson but engraved only as "Marzan"), the Canadian Brass model, and wasn't there even just a regular Willson 2975 just engraved only as Willson (no mention of Marzan)?

Regardless, it's a nice instrument, made for us tuba players!

Funny - when I saw that opening I immediately thought of spinning it like Chuck Connors spinning his 1892 Winchester, or like Maynard Ferguson did his trumpet.

I always wanted to spend some "quality time" with one of these - because the "points out into the hall" thing is very attractive, and I really like my 2900 (having learned "the trick" of easily playing it in tune).
My personal dumb issue is that - after all these years - I've become (even though euphonium is a double for me, as well) a "very comfortable, now, with 3+1" person.

The price seems quite fair to me...particularly with a nice new genuine Kurath-made not-rotted and cannot-rot mouthpipe tube mounted on it.

BUMP for a fair price asked for a rarely-offered-for-sale model !!!

Yeah, these were selling for more money in the past. Definitely a good price.
