Yep going to do it. I am going to switch back to rotary I think, have Norm Epley building me an epic horn right now and I need to downsize and pay bills. I have a lot more $ into this project than I should so I am taking a big hit as it is.
Originally built in 1973, lived life in Central Texas with the 101st Cavalry band in a serviceman's personal collection then on to me... this 1241 had a few mods done to it and now it's a 2341 basically. 19'' King factory bell, Top Pull slides, vented valves, Kanstul valve buttons, nickel & silver accents, floating 2341 lead pipe (better angle for the player), 4th valve water key added, recently Ultrasonically cleaned and old Orange lacquer stripped to raw brass. Has has minor dent repairs in the past but nothing major, was adult owned it's entire life according to the provenance.
This one plays better than any King I've played in the past 30 years, maybe the mods done to it or better metallurgy back in the day. You won't find another one this clean or that plays as well. I would put this one up against any $10k horn all day as far as playability. All work done by NRE Brassworks in Louisville, KY. There was well over $1500 in mods and custom stuff done to this horn, it's not a regular old beater King you find in other ads or on eBay from a school band room, this one is the real deal and a lot of work was put into it.
I have an SKB hard case worth $600 and it's basically new I can throw in if you want to pay for shipping for it. Video of it being played upon request if you're a serious buyer. Selling and switching to something more ergonomically friendly on my back and got bills to pay.
$2500 (Buyer pays shipping).
