This was quite a while back...
A university alumna had written this piece, we had been asked to perform it.
We had to run through it once...I NOW recall that the composer recorded our rehearsal.
...so here is the composer's "professional performance" of their work - on Naxos.
(I had NO idea this existed. I was looking for something else - the link to which (along with all of my other posts) I requested be deleted from the "old" place.
What I was ACTUALLY looking for (for a friend) was a link to a performance that I did - with this group - of the Ingolf Dahl.
(I suspect that they must have a second youtube account - which is "hidden"...or something.)
I have no comments to offer, regarding either this piece or this read-through of it.
I hear some "fuzz" around the overall recorded sound - which makes me wonder if it was recorded with a phone...(??)
The ratings are interesting.
I suppose the lesson (if any...??), here, might be "Always try to do your best".
You NEVER know what someone is going to do with a recording...

Any time a composer wants a 'study' recording, something needs to be signed that it is ONLY for that and if used for other purposes, remuneration is required for the performers....

yeah...For this - in particular - I'm not sure that I would have signed such a paper.
I often quote my friend, "A bad gig is better than a good job"...
...but "bad gigs" don't exist in perpetuity.
