Bach for Tuba, Vol.1 (Bixby/Bobo)

Post by Peach »

Hoping we might have a Bach scholar here who can help me identify the source of Number 12 from Vol.1, titled Aria: Dominica Misericordias Domini.

Thanks for any help!

I'm not a Bach scholar, but a quick web search indicates the name is tied to a cantata, BWV 104. A performance of the cantata is here: https://vimeo.com/585038101

I'm listening to it now. Lovely piece. Starts around 22:00 and finishes at around 42:00. Apparently they turn the camera on before the concert and just let it run, so you don't even see anyone on stage until nearly the 20min mark.
