Thank you both!
The sound is the biggest idea behind the tuba. Quick technical excerpts are very difficult to play. She is to long for it... I tried to play the subcontrabasstuba in its original assignment

Is there also a Hindsley transcription?
We either played that one (that you were doing) or a Hindsley version at Memphis State University (distinguished from the later-renamed University of Memphis) in 1976… With consistently strong saxes and clarinets, we finally had a solo/artist-level principal oboe in the band, which opened up more possibilities.
It seems to me that not many high school and college bands are willing to tackle such pieces, today (pieces which tend to lay any and all weaknesses wide open for all to hear), and mostly seem to retreat to formula/recently-composed “band pieces“.
…great sound - btw, and appropriate use of a large tuba.

You sound great! I just think that I personally don’t care for the sound of the Eastman 836. It sounds like you, but without the edge. I mean that with the most respect, it still sounds great. I just like you better on other tubas.

Incredibly good arrangement, I’ve had the opportunity to play it a few times.
Und eine schöne Wiedergabe von Herr Kontrabasstuba!
I think I have a copy of the part around here someplace - IIRC, it’s transposed down a half-step from the original (E to E flat).
