SOLD- Mirafone 184 5 Valve BBb

Post by tylerferris1213 »

Up for sale is a 5 valve Mirafone 184 BBb tuba! I picked this up thinking I'd like it more, but I'm too tied to my classic American horns. The 5th valve is a two step. The old style S linkages aren't as quiet as newer style linkages, but the noise doesn't bother me and you definitely won't hear them in a band setting. Included with this is a leather (maybe faux leather?) Mirafone gig bag. It's worn, but it does the job! There are some dents, but nothing major. The worst dent is in the bottom bow.

Feel free to shoot me a message with any questions you may have! I'd rather drive to facilitate a sale, but I can ship if needed. I'm asking $3,500. Feel free to shoot me a reasonable offer!

Reach out to me at tylerferris1213@gmail.com with any questions or offers. I'd be happy to send pictures as well! Thanks for reading!

I am bumping this ad.
This is likely to be quite a nice instrument.

Quite a few months down the road, I’ll be working on a pair of these - one the belongs to a customer and one the belongs to me to sell.

So far, I’ve never played a 184 B-flat, as neither of those here are currently in playing condition, but I’m really eager to try them out, once they are repaired - off in the future. I remember thar a young man at Interlochen had one, and it put out a tremendous sound.

I think it’s particularly cool that Tyler‘s is five valve, which makes it pretty darn rare.

If this plays anything like my dueling pair of CC 184's, someone will be getting a really fine horn. I have no problems playing mine at loud volumes without the sound breaking up. Intonation is very good and they are super agile. It is very cool that the horn for sale has a 5th valve and that it is the old style. Whoever gets this horn will have a very nice do-it-all instrument.
