These look like regular action valves which I believe makes it a 36J.

Really good price even considering the condition, but I'm sure it'll rise considerably in the final seconds as auctions often do.

The bell has "36J" stamped on the tenon. (To me, it actually looks like "38J" but I'm getting blind in my advancing age, heh, heh…)

The 4th piston appears to be in the casing. It is missing the stem and the button. The large dent in the bottom bow is a job for someone who is skilled in using magnets like the MDRS. It will require balls and magnets large enough to cause a severe injury to the tech if he or she is not very experienced with this method of dent work. The rest of the dent work appears to be pretty easy to get out, magnets or traditional rod-and-ball, either way.

These horns have the old Conn "crysteel" valves, so if the horn looks this decent then the pistons are likely in good shape, plating-wise.

Note that the bottom bow only has a guard wire. I thought these all had guard wires AND caps, so this could have been a restoration with a refinish job, and therefore, could be hiding a lot of horrors, internally.

Bid with caution…

Thread title edited to reflect correct model number.

I do love those Crysteel valves. I wonder why they never caught on.
