Dennis Askew

Post by bloke »

I saw on Facebook that a memorial weekend event is planned in a couple of weeks.
I can’t go, and I honestly didn’t know him very well, but I knew him well enough to know what a great person he was.
Losing him was a shock, but I appreciate being reminded of him, because it’s important to remember people like Dennis.

I guess I missed this last year—I was still dealing with the death of my father (who died suddenly at age 92 a year and a day ago) and not paying much attention elsewhere.

So sad. Dennis was a spark plug—everyone around him was energized by his presence. He was always on the short list of people I needed to see at the Army workshop every year. He was far too young, but we never know when we will be called. I will miss him.
