I haven't played either of the tubas in question, but I do own a Schiller 520 BB-flat.

My experience with Jim Laabs? I had some concerns about the valveset in my Schiller tuba and called them four times about a possible warranty adjustment. Three times, a nice lady took my name and number, and nobody ever called me back. The fourth time, I talked to a snotty guy who demonstrated absolutely zero interest in addressing my concerns, even if I drove the tuba to their store in Stevens Point, WI to have them look at it.

There was no mention of a warranty on their eBay listing for my tuba, and apparently, there isn't one. Caveat emptor.
