ILBG is @saxophyte, I think. Vintage hellebergs go for large sums, so it's not a bad starting price. Whether it is worth it is in the eye of the beholder.

Quite a few new mouthpieces in that neighborhood, so it's really not that bad. Somebody will want it for that price.

Is this something that is supposed to get restored and *gasp* used, or something to be preserved in this condition in someone else's sock drawer?

Fwiw the seller is a decent guy to deal with, despite the un-PC ebay handle.

I don't know what a Helleberg of this vintage usually goes for, but I would guess the price is probably somewhere in fair territory.

Gotta love the olde school styling. If I bought this, I would have it replated and play on it

Get a Conn 2 and take a hammer to the rim, to make it just a little flatter. With some luck that might get you about there, and you can afford to repeat the experiment several times and come out ahead.
