TU422L BB Tuba

Post by Schlepporello »

Have any of you guys played or own this horn? I played the Tuba Exchange TE-690L last Saturday at TMEA and was pleasantly surprised at how well it played and how in tune it was. And while the TU422L has a bigger bell and bigger bore, bigger doesn't always mean better.

I've played both of those, not bad!

I still think in that size of tuba, the packer is a better horn, but it might be a bit more expensive.

I'm curious because the Packer seems to be the same horn as the TE-690L from TE.

If you check the spec pages, the Packer has a larger bore size (0.689-0.728") than the TE tuba (.670)

I think it blows a lot freer

The packer also has a rose brass leadpipe instead of Nickel silver

Two different interpretations of the same tuba I guess

Hmm. Interesting. One more tuba that I'll have to look into.
Bloke, do you have any idea what the price might be on one of these?
(I asked Bloke because he does seem to have an interest in these horns)

I know a thing or three about that model!!

No regrets.

Larger bore and bell sold me. Good sound and doesn’t bark so much.

Light and good for band. :tuba:
