This is about two hours old as of 6:00 p.m. US Eastern Time, from a reliable source on Facebook in Europe. I think some sort of cyberattack may be happening right now, so read and heed. I don't know if this affects US users, but more security is always a good thing. Since this is our forum's Instagram thread I thought it might be wise to share this info here.

How were you able to tell it was an @.ru address in FB? How can you tell someone got in?
I use very complex passwords for everything and never duplicate them, so — knock wood — I have never been hacked. So I am not sure how to tell other than friends contacting me to know why I am suddenly posting porn or whatever hackers do.
Please share, as it will not only be instructive to me, but to anyone reading this in future.

"Sorry about the downtime. I got an email from SiteLock that they removed some malware from TubaForum (I had to re-upload a few backup files when I got home). The SiteLock firewall gets most things, so hopefully this is an isolated incident."

I'll never understand why spam/malware/viruses/scams/etc. exist. It feels like we should have outgrown this a long time ago.

I addition to the obvious .ru sourced hack, I had an Asian based business make me an editor on their page.
This was reported to FB repeatedly and there was no action, response, anything.
Misgender someone and they are on you like stink on Shirt!!
