It's not quite the tuba-haven that Minnesota is, but there are a few of us!

I'll be looking for you, Jerry!

I saw them a few years ago. One of the best concerts I've ever seen. Wish they were going to be anywhere near me this year. Hopefully they will release more dates

All jokes aside, I'm really happy for you. I saw them like 10 years ago in New York, it was incredible

I have asked Mrs. bloke if she would go with me, and I asked two of my section mates if they would go. I got three no’s… I would go, if someone would go with me to the concert that’s a little bit east of Birmingham.

In 45 minutes, “Asleep at the Wheel“ performs in Memphis. I’m missing that, because it’s just too dangerous.
It’s next door to a venue that I played in every Sunday afternoon - forty years ago.

They're all good brass players, but the real star is Thomas Gansch, the lead trumpet player. Great chops that don't quit, and also plays jazz.

A high energy, hilarious, fireworks-laden, bravura show! Incredibly entertaining. They shouldn't be missed if you get a chance to see/hear them.

Sorry I missed you, Jordan. My phone was silenced. I was in the 7th row to the right of center.

The other guy is Albert Weider, but I think Willi is back, at least from posts I’ve seen on Gansch’s Facebook.

Willi was there tonight, and in excellent form. It was one of the most entertaining shows I've ever seen. The audience was wild over them, and kept them coming back over and over. As energetic as their show is, I don't see how they can do it night after night, and at the volume and technique levels at which they play.

I am so thankful for this post!

We are on a long road trip and fate had it that our first overnight stay of the trip was Kansas City on the same night they are playing. We were all tired from driving almost 7 hours that day but I had to go. They were wonderful.

The second day I was able to meet and visit with Bloke and family which was the highlight of the trip. On to Indy to visit some old friends then home. Thanks again to the original poster. I would have never known they were in town otherwise.

I saw them several years ago in Chiraq, excellent show! Their opening fanfare was so perfectly loud I think my brain stopped... It was cool to see Willie walking around watching the other groups play before Mnozil had their set.

No opening act at the Oxford show. Their first tune was an original that was technical, extremely involved, and LOUD! Later on, in one of the last encores, after well over two hours of exhausting playing, they pulled the three trombones to the front of the stage and parted my hair from fifty feet away (and I shave my head). Their skill and sheer endurance are amazing. I've gotta see them the next time through.
