In marching band, both high school and college, the directors would hook one of these up to a portable PA system for maximum pain.

Same, as well as in DCI and marching band at North Texas. I use them when I teach, too.

So to my surprise, and @Doc’s surprise, we found out last night that we have been playing in a group for the last year with Mr McAdams, the same McAdams as the metronome. Mr. McAdams, an Electrical Engineer by trade, is a Euphonium/Baritone player.
