I guess the bloke attic is already too full of $200-$500 rotary tubas (Miraphone, Meinl-Weston, what have you) for anything resembling that to be the least bit attractive.
Bit by bit, I’m getting them slicked out and sold - as was seen with the 84 in the repair thread, and which might actually eventually be seen in the Holton 6/4 thread - but these days I’m much more attracted to shiny instruments which can be made nice in one long hard day’s work, and even if I have to pay up to $2000 less than their ready-to-sell value.
Again, if I see something that looks like it’s going to take more than 10 hours to slick out, I’m going to pass on it, because I have plenty of stuff like that already.
… The midget trashed York 4/4-sized Holton - that I recently morphed into an instrument… Well I just couldn’t help it; what can I say?
