' copped this, today...
oldie but goodie.
In the past, I hoarded these California bags, but Mrs. bloke made me sell of several of them.
(when it became a giant kitchen-range-size open-top box FULL of them - sitting in the laundry/mud room.
Formerly, I didn't get particularly excited about picking up another one of these (ie. "oh, good", etc.)
In the meantime (new ownership company having to cover acquisition cost of name and patterns / top-down engineered hyperinflation, etc.) they are now $724 - if bought new at the regularly-listed price...
...so "included for no extra dough, with some stuff that I bought"... well, paying $0.00 for this -today - was sorta cool.
I'm not selling it, but (I'm thinking of) retreating to hoarding. It fits my B&S F tuba a little bit more snugly that the California-made bag in which I already had been carrying it. (I'm thinking this bag is slightly shorter, and is ACTUALLY made for a 16.5" bell, rather than a 17.75" bell.
Since (girth-wise) the fit is just a bit lose (as can be seen) my guess is that this probably was made to fit the "classic/handmade" Miraphone 186 tubas.
The purpose of this post...?? nothing more than "lookie hee-uh at what I gots".
Since my other bags are named...I suppose (if I keep this one...??) I'll probably name this one as well.
bloke "...and also have been the recipient of OTHERS' largesse, this week..."
- bricks from a wide torn-down chimney with a very large interior all-brick hearth (for bolstering a pond bank, and undoing torrential rains-caused spillway washing). I dropped my two-axle trailer off - this morning - at the worksite. The demolition men will load them.
(It might be two heaping trailer-loads...?? Have you priced out small-size riprap, lately...??)
- TWO ACRES worth of feed corn (though we had to hand-pick it, shuck it, and buy some additional food-grade barrels in which to store it). It had been standing since October - originally grown to sell as (only for the brown stalks) fall decorations for city folk.
- OH...and THIS:
I did (what I thought to be) a really small favor for someone. Today - as the favor was completed, they handed these off to me. They work for a safety equipment company, and are authorized to give away a certain amount of samples. "Don't ever buy work gloves again; just call me..." they said.

I know you're not a backpack-strap guy... but I'm curious about the trustworthiness of the detachable backpack straps.

They are “detachable” because they got big honkin’ brass clip capturing hooks on it.

I bought a couple of trumpets, a couple of clarinets, and a couple of trombones that were worth picking up.
I didn't buy anything from the gloves-guy...just did them a favor.

My Mirafone 184 came with one of those bags in the same color. It's a very nice gig bag.

@bloke my comment didn't post for some reason. All I said was that one of those bags came with my Mirafone 184. It's very nice and fits it perfectly.

Re: ' copped this, today...
Once upon a time, I was looking for a rare oem case for an older tuba.
I found one of those tubas for sale WITH the case (in very good condition).
I bought the tuba, kept the case, and sold the tuba (no case) for a higher price than I paid to buy it.
bloke "hmm...I may (??) have done this more than once..."

I foresee the need for one for my Eb, but I don't want to spend the money. Not just yet anyway.

Re: ' copped this, today...
JP is looking to introduce more bags (so far, they have the Brazil-STYLE hard cases for a few models, and - to my knowledge) ONLY a euphonium bag.
(There are so many things on the drawing board...)
"You know: the thing" has really shut down in-person communication (necessary) as well as product line development.
bloke " ' funny how human fingers pointing to a 3d-located actual spot - along with hands demonstrating shapes/sizes, and with appropriate/accompanying facial expressions - are so much better than pictures-and-arrows."

Re: ' copped this, today...
It will be interested to see JP's bag offerings if they ever manifest. I like the JP case very much. Form-fitting/snug, extra pads (if necessary, ample storage, and decent wheels. Pretty stout. It's not super-heavy, but with the solid-tank-377 inside, it's heavy enough that I appreciate the wheels. I threw the Eb into one of my Miraphone bags in a pinch, as I played it on a gig in which we had to park in a grassy lot (about a 50yd drag with a case). It didn't fit well in the bag at all (I managed to close the zipper), but I got it to the tent alright. The right bag would have made it easier.
If I start playing Eb in brass band this fall - a possibility - I can use the wheeled case on pavement, the only issue being a long walk to the stage. A bag is MUCH easier.
I missed out twice on Miraphone bags here on TF that would have fit (made to fit the Ambassador Eb).
