A Sovereign 967??? I'm in the area later this week. If it's still listed, I'll check it out.

I contacted them and asked for the bell diameter. They told me to Google it. I asked the history of the horn, how long they’d had it and if they played in any of the areas community bands (not too far away and I know some of those peeps).

No answer (several days ago).

My advice is to proceed with caution.

Yrs, a 967 should be a euph.

A Sovereign for $1,400 is pretty good, but this looks fishy. Hopefully someone didn't get their Sovereign stolen.

Normally I would agree that the ad seems a little too good to be true, but they posted the SN in the ad, which would seem to go against it being stolen. I agree, though, caveat emptor.

EVERY out-of-town ad can be classified as "fishy", but this is certainly plausible.

They know nothing about it.
- "Google it" - They're busy, away from the house, only want it sold...and not to have to pick it up again and answer questions about it.
They looked up "Besson tuba", found one for $2000, and priced their "tuba" at $1400. (again: "Google it"...THEY obviously looked up "Besson tuba" with google.)
' could have belonged to a deceased/divorced/addicted-and-who-knows-where-they-are relative...(??)

If I didn't have JP euphoniums to sell, I might well call them, wire them the dough, and pay some UPS store to fetch it and ship it to me, so I could flip it.

I saw that they also have it listed on OfferUp. Looked at what else the seller had to sell.

All women’s clothing + this euphonium.

Who knows. Only one way to find out.

@bloke you don’t have to use UPS store. I’ll go get it for you if you want. It’s not drastically out of my way home from work.

probably best for a local buyer...so they can check the condition of the valves, and also make sure it's a real item...

...but I'm just not as suspicious as are some.

I called the seller, no reply. Would be interested, perhaps...
