Re: third generation Interlochen camper
I have enjoyed this topic very much. Not to change or hijack the thread, but as you know, I also studied with and became close friends with Rex Conner when I studied with him at U. of Ky. I have only had the privilege of watching Drs. Revellie and Reynolds rehearsing and conducting the Texas all-state band when I was still teaching. Our local tuba ensemble added a new member a couple of weeks ago, a guy who plays in the Fort Worth German Band and who told me he studied with Rex Conner at the Interlochen camp in his middle school and high school days (he grew up in Detroit). He and I are a little older than you, @bloke, but what a small world.

Here's a professional orchestra playing the entire Hanson 2...but I cued it up to the "Interlochen Theme".
The top high school orchestra at Interlochen ("World Youth Symphony Orchestra") sounds nearly this good when playing it.
