Jeremiah

Post by bloke »

Jeremiah is playing at the Milwaukee Germanfest this weekend, which is why I won’t be able to see him.

Maybe he’ll post pictures…(??)

I thought you were going to say his kid was born. :-) every time I see a post title with just a person's name I think it's going to be some major life news for that person. Hopefully good, all too often not.

I bet that's a really fun gig for him. Too bad it's in such a highly populated area that you wouldn't go anywhere near it. :-)

There’s lots of great stuff going on up here if I wanted to engage in some interesting things in a safe place. There’s an amazing airshow in Fond du Lac, there are all sorts of fishing tournaments, golf tournaments, car shows and all sorts of things going on up here in the less populated part of Wisconsin.
Surely the same in your state, these people jam all of their fun into the short time when weather is perfect - and when weather is not miserable.
Room rates were already doubled after the coup, but this time of year they are double-double and all AAA, AARP, hotel club, and other discounts are suspended.
As the strategic oil reserve has been emptied - as an attempt to bump up approval numbers temporarily, that was perfect timing for this trip, because it probably saved me 30 or 40 bucks. Of course - these oligarchs having done that, I now approve of these post-coup current rulers so very very much (being that I am gullible and stupid. 😎)
Finally, I will enter such areas for - probably - the same reasons Jeremiah does, and will arrive and leave at times related to those reasons.

I know, I know... I'm just joking.

You're talking to a guy here who is guaranteed to LOVE every second of 2+hours north of here but hasn't been there yet. Next summer, for sure.

I think you might find the same as well, if you're ever up there and have more time, just keep going north. Pretty sure you'd like a lot of it too

‘ watched a Milwaukee station in the morning and saw a cheerful morning show promoting the German fest, and turned the same station back on this evening for the evening news, and they were reporting all the shootings and murders - just like Memphis.

German Fest was a BLAST today! I performed with the Dorf Kapelle from 12:30-6:00pm (with some breaks in there of course). Going again from 4:30-7:00pm tomorrow. Lots of great entertainment...not to mention terrific food. Attached is a picture from my seat, nice crowd! There was also a parade that was enjoyable...quite a few classic Volkswagons.

I did see this post on one of the breaks, and took a couple videos on my phone to share. The Happy Wanderer and In Deinen Armen. We do the typical stuff from the Mosch/Hutter library, beer drinking songs (obviously), but also a few modern tunes (Viera Blech for example).

Disclaimer: I am a trombone/euphonium player who doubles on tuba...don't be too judgy, LOL! Horn is an Eastman 562 w/Helleburg.

My buddy (the drummer) and I decided to carpool and drive back up home (and not stay in a hotel). With EAA having their air show, hotels are booked EVERYWHERE...even as far down as Milwaukee. I actually lived in Milwaukee for 2.5 years when I was in grad. school...it's always been too overstimulating for this country/farm boy. Not to mention the litter everywhere really gets to me. I'll enter for a few hours, but then I want to leave :)

Speaking of the baby, only five more weeks! I bought her (name TBA) a onsie at German Fest...since she'll be born during Oktoberfest season it seems only fitting.
