To your point, it’s not a 2200 buck beater.
It’s a $4500 well cared for musical instrument.
I didn’t look to see if there’s a picture of the pistons, but - if they are great - that thing looks to be British brass band ready.

Yeah, pretty high price... but the horn is about as nice as anyone can expect to find in the US. For someone who knows Bessons and knows they will like this model, I would think it's worth it. A lifetime horn for that player.

I seem to remember you saying you might have an Edgeware BH or vintage Besson Bb 4v comp in the attic needing to be brought back to life, yes?

This tuba looks to be in really nice condition.

For a long time, our band has wanted to own our own set of Bb and Eb basses like most of our counterparts do in the British commonwealth. Coronamadness through a wrench in that. Good used basses like this one could surely fit the bill without breaking the bank.
