Up for Sale is a 1990's vintage Miraphone 186, 5-Vave CC tuba. This tuba features a 17.717" bell, .772" bore, and has a nickel silver lead pipe. An exceptional version of this tuba, the instrument has been ultrasonically cleaned, new bumpers, water key corks, and alignment done on valves. A 5th valve trigger is on this instrument, which also features Miraphone's Presto Linkage, found only in a rare time period. No major dents, lacquer is in quite good condition. Comes with a Jakob Winter tuba case in good condition as well.

As a player, this tuba is very versatile, being able to play in all band settings, along with quintet, orchestra, and more. The tuba has quite a fast response on articulation, while featuring easy slurs as well. I have found no intonation issues with this, and am posting for a friend of mine.

Thanks, another repair technician and myself both tried to figure out what might work, but as a player, I truly believe someone is going to take that linkage and trigger off of that instrument. As a technician, I didn't want to do that and destroy the lacquer in that area, so we made that custom set up out of a thumb ring and it unthreads from the instrument.
