new condition VERY sturdy molded 3/4 >CASE< to fit Yamaha or Yamaha-size pro or student 3/4 tuba (front-action oriented)

Post by bloke »

This should fit ANY of the three professional Yamaha 621 models (B-flat, C, or F) as well as the venerable 103 vintage student model.

I'm pretty sure the top-action 104 and 105 would fit just fine - valves-down.

There are also tons of copies of the 105 tubas (Weril/Jupiter/Eastman/JP/et al).

I also am confident this would fit a JP179B, but those come with really nice cases, so I doubt that anyone would need this case for that model.

This case is impressive (not particularly lightweight) and a super-upgrade from those burgundy/cordovan-colored Yamaha cases.

I have attic space and a plastic bag, and - upon payment - would be willing to hold it indefinitely...if the buyer (or a friend of the buyer) would prefer to pick it up soon-or-eventually (as shipping has become quite expensive).

(This is one of those molded cases that is so sturdy that it might easily be mistaken for fiberglass. It's even equipped with (FIVE) butterfly-style latches. If it fit ANY of my tubas, I would NOT be offering it for sale !)

OTHERWISE (if you think it might fit your OTHER type of tuba...)
probably...
- Don't exceed a 15" bell.
- Don't exceed 33" tuba height.
- It's really a FRONT-action tuba case, BUT your small TOP-action tuba MIGHT (??) fit in this case valves-down.

cheaper than most soft bags: $300

Those of you with the F tuba version of this size instrument that Yamaha makes might be particularly interested in this case. I don’t think ANY case is tough enough to allow others to throw them under airplanes, but this one’s pretty darn tough.

It seems like it might fit my Franken Eb, but for the moment, I'm only using gig bags. That would be really nice though...

yeah...
I own a complete set of top-quality (Glenn Cronkhite himself-made) dent-bags for my instruments...but (I'm and a few others like Wade) have grown weary of dents (particularly after really going over our instruments in complete detail)...so perhaps there are others of our mindset as well.

If I had not sold my YFB-621S 23 years ago, id certainly consider buying this.

Such a small horn that the case isn’t cumbersome.

Were the case absolutely gutted, it might barely fit, but I would really doubt it.
I have a darn good condition wood case - outfitted with two of those big DEG-style wheels - that I think might fit…

…but aren’t you so far away, that shipping would really be expensive?
… or do you know someone who might be sweeping past here…??

I'm up in Washington State. Almost as far as you can get to the NW. You are right. Shipping cost would probably eat up any reason for me to buy it. I have a bag but was hoping for a hard case.

Thanks for the reply.
