Mine isn't in as good a shape as yours.

It's a fun little horn, good for learning. I bought it a few years back when I started to dabble in the trenches of Eb. Lot of similarities with Eb alto trombone, so it wasn't a huge learning curve. I've improved enough to the point that I bought a Besson 782 a few months back.

Also open to offers & trades, and could also do a little traveling if the distance is reasonable. Would love to see the horn find a good home.

Yeah it was my first Eb too. I just always had valve issues on mine and eventually got a Sousaphone, before finally getting an old Conn 4 valve (that I turned into a 5 valve)

What are the specs?

How tall?
Bell diameter?
Weight?

Been wanting to get "something" for my son to start playing. This might still be a little too large (he's only 5 years old), but he's a pretty big guy, and frankly, doesn't have that much trouble on my Alexander trying to reach things. Only problem is, dada gets a little nervous with kid hands on an Alexander. :red:

Also, I forget, where in Wisconsin are you?

Thanks!

My eyes may deceive me, but it looks like an Amati stencil, right down to the engraving detail (less the lettering, of course).

I briefly played on an Amati BBb in High School that looked almost identical. Solid horn for a kid or novice adult.

Did your amati have a weird valve guide system that involved a vertical post between the valve cap and the valve itself?

My Holton does, never seen anything like it, except maybe a short action Conn valve

@bort2.0 32" tall, 15" bell, and 12.2 pounds. Lucky 5-year-old being able to play an Alexander :)

Cool, thanks... My wife has family out in Appleton. I've been out to DePere a few times, too.

Will think on it!

Hard to remember (40+ years ago), but I seem to recall that oiling the valves was a little involved, yet not difficult.
