I think the attempt with the ZO York was to emulate the style of engraving found on the late 19th and early 20th century US horns. Tom McGrady can likely explain more as he sells them and may have had a hand in their development.

Given the quality of the pic, it's hard to see the quality of engraving. And I know you know this style of engraving. I applaud companies that make an effort to revive older styles. As always, YMMV.
