Mr. Bowman was my teacher throughout high school. Even 40 years ago, he was at the top of the euphonium world. He actually came to my high school, an ordinary public school, once a week to give lessons. Looking back on it, I'm astounded at that great opportunity. Fortunately, I had the sense then to appreciate his status and make the most of his great teaching. He pushed me hard, played with me, played for me, and my head was spinning after every lesson.
