Conn 36 fiberglass sousaphone - custom paint

I faux-painted this to look like a vintage brass sousaphone for my traditional jazz and brass band gigs.
It plays like you would expect a 36 fiberglass sousaphone to play and it is LIGHT!
Perfect gigging horn ready to go!

Comes with conn neck and 2 bits.

Located in Pensacola Florida
Price $1600
The buyer pays for packing and shipping - to the buyer's specs.

Thanks for looking.

This is a great gigging horn. Lightweight fiberglass with the look of old brass. Folks always ask "how old is that tuba?" Perfect for vintage jazz and strolling gigs. Plays like all the other 36K fiberglass sousaphones I've owned. Valves and compression are good.

I'm listing this on Market Place today. Hope someone here will buy it.

Great stuff, Tim! The horn looks and sounds great and you did a fine job. I like the dobro, too. Banjo is always too harsh sounding to my ears for indoor gigs.

Was that "Honeysuckle Rose"?

Sounds great! You know, for a custom made, one of a kind piece of art made right at your event for you, it should be about 1000$ per tune.

It definitely was!

Tim, you must be the guy at Rosie O'Grady's, if they still have live music there. I was through Pensacola in November or so for Chicago the Musical, wish I'd have thought to visit Rosie's.

I moved to Pensacola from New Orleans in 1986 and was "the guy at Rosie O'Grady's" for a short while... until they discontinued the jazz music around '89. Good for me, as I formed a band and started doing events, which grew into a full-fledged talent agency. When you run the business you get to pick and choose who you work with on every gig! It has been a wonderful journey.

Very cool! It is a disappointment, though, that the live music there stopped even before the live music in the Orlando Rosie's did...which, of course, is no longer around.

By the way, how was this painted? Professionally? A specific spray paint?
