Star of the show; Lee Stofer’s new Lidl tuba line.
Frankly, everything else I already seen.
With prices on Packer and Eastman climbing, these Czech models are worth a look.
He had a large, medium, piggy and very small BBb.
I really dug the Mommy sized “just right” model.
Awesome gold brass, engraving and 2nd valve kicker.
Light.

DUDE...
OUR pricing on Packer is not climbing, but I'm not advertising them.
Peeps are going to have to get up enough courage to actually ASK.
The climbED (past tense) 10% when a tariff was imposed, but they haven't climbed SINCE - even though everything else that people buy now costs double.

Post some pics of peeps at the conference.

I wish Lee Stofer would put those new Lidl models on his web site so we can see his descriptions and pricing. The only Lidl he has on there is an F. I’d love to see the C’s and Bb’s. Yes, I know you can look at them on the Lidl site. But it would be nice to see the pictures of the actual instruments he has in stock, his personal descriptions, and his pricing in USA $.Three Valves wrote: ↑Fri Feb 03, 2023 5:31 pm Star of the show; Lee Stofer’s new Lidl tuba line.

Lee's pretty responsive and a wonderful fellow. I'm sure if you drop him an email or give him a call he'd be happy to chat about the Lidls.DonO. wrote: ↑Mon Feb 06, 2023 8:48 amI wish Lee Stofer would put those new Lidl models on his web site so we can see his descriptions and pricing. Re: US ARMY Conference Feb 1, 2023 - Feb 4, 2023
This was the first year I can recall where I knew if I found the right horn I would be buying it. There were very few "I want to play that just to try it" type things for me. I was disappointed to not find a Willson Eb or Yamaha 822 F in the room. I didn't pick up a "big" instrument once to play, which told me I'm MORE than happy with my Eastman 836.
The single most disappointing instrument I played was a Miraphone 185 CC. By modern standards it was REALLY tall and skinny, but it played more like an old Alex F tuba that just happened to be a 4th lower than a F tuba. Coaxing the low G out of thing was like coaxing the low C on said F and that made for a weird experience.
The addition of three pool tables to the vendor room was a nice touch though. Made an already too small room that much smaller.

I went with the intention of buying only lubricants (nobody had my brand), and ended up buying a tuba.
Matt brought a battered old Giardinelli-branded B&S 101 from the 70’s. It’s in playable condition but needs a lot of work. Scratch that, it’s not just in playable condition, it is as good as any example of the old tall-bell 101’s as I’ve ever played, and that is saying a lot. And Matt really, really, really did not want to take it back to Woodbridge. It’s almost too good for me to work on. Almost.

Re: US ARMY Conference Feb 1, 2023 - Feb 4, 2023
It was so good to see so many friends and acquaintances at Ft. Myer again last week!
The exhibit hall was a little morr challenging this year, but by covering the pool table we were able to turn a liability into an asset, displaying four new Lidl oval euphoniums on K&M stands in the center of the booth.
What clinics & performances I was able to attend, were all just wonderful. When I get to be with military musicians at this Workshop, I get this very powerful feeling that in a way, for four days, I'm back with my tribe.
I will be creating and posting ads for the Josef Lidl tubas, euphoniums and double horns in stock as soon as I can. I have 4 BBb tubas, 3 CC's, 2 F's, 3 euphoniums and 4 double horns at present. I am expecting four more CC tubas in about a month.
