Yes. Some think it is one of the least-respected Olympic sports, but I know better.humBell wrote: ↑Tue Feb 07, 2023 12:31 pmKnurling is satisfying, isn't it?arpthark wrote: ↑Tue Feb 07, 2023 8:28 am https://charlottesville.craigslist.org/ ... 46597.html

I've been eyeing that one. It was relisted a few times; the auction ended prematurely with the reserve unmet. And now it's listed considerably higher.humBell wrote: ↑Sun Mar 19, 2023 9:27 pm Closer to home: (least for both me and @arpthark )

I've heard the scale is bad on these, but I'd still be tempted if it hung around the current price.

Re: Virginia CL: Buescher Eb $500
I owned a Conn Giant and have played a big York, King and Holton. The Holton was the best sounding horn but the York was the only one that was playable. The King was a joke, playing a scale sounded like free form jazz. The smaller American Eb tubas play much better but there's no guarantees there. I've had 2 small Conn's, one played fantastically but the other has flat 4th and 5th partials. My 'medium' King Eb plays and sounds great, like a 621F with soul, but still has that wide octave. I haven't played a factory small York, though I played a Bob Rusk cut short F that was awesome. Tons of core, only bad note was (I think) high F and there was an easy alternate.arpthark wrote: ↑Mon Mar 20, 2023 7:07 amI've been eyeing that one. Apparently sold.
These E-flats are good furnishers of bells, bottom bows, braces, and water keys.

Yeah, sorry, i shoulda mentioned the Virginia craigslist one got sold.
The CT ebay one is being auctioned (for lower opening bid, and has slide extenders, but not a pleather case and mouthpieces and oil and a beginner tuba book)
