corks/felts source?
Speaking as a self-taught/self-learning/mistake-making home brass repair noob, does anyone have a relatively inexpensive source for corks/felts?

Re: corks/felts source?
I don't know how inexpensive you are seeking, but synthetic alcoholic beverage corks could be cut with single edge razor blades - I suppose - and one of those cylindrical hole punches that you hit with a hammer could be run down through the middle.
As far as felt is concerned, 1/8 in is a common thickness with band instruments, and I guess you could buy a sheet of felt that thick, cut out or punch out circles, and punch out the middles of those as well.
