Need help with case handle hardware
My Kanstul has an old fashioned wooden case. I’m pretty sure it’s original because the horn fits so well. The handle has stamped sheet metal covers that hide the riveted-on handle mounts. One is missing. I took the other off so that both sides match. I’m pretty sure that their function is only cosmetic and that they have nothing to do with the strength of the mounts. That said, I would love to find a replacement. A couple of hours searching the internet revealed very little. I found only one listing that looked remotely like it. A Canadian company called Musiccare Inc. has a listing for “flat type leather handle for Bach type case”. I’m not sure the size is the same but the resemblance is strong. But I would have to buy the whole handle with all hardware just to get the part I need. Additionally, I have nickel, and all they have in stock is brass. I have attached some pictures. The sheet metal cover I need is approx. 3/4 in. X 1 in. This is a stab in the dark, but I was hoping one of you who does a lot of case restoration (I know you’re out there!) might point me in the right direction or maybe you even have some of these lying around in a bin of case parts. Thank you in advance for any help you can give me!

I should have read your post.
I now see that you're seeking trim, but I only found a replacement for the primary.

There used to be an Allied Supply handle with those covers that was a solid plastic handle with loops on each end. I think you probably have to buy the entire handle to get those pop-ons, if Allied still sells that handle.

OK...
If you can get your local repair shop to order an A604 from Allied Supply, I believe those handles include those nickel caps.
Maybe (??) they could sell you the two caps for the cost of the handle, and they could keep the handle...(??)
Fifteen bucks is pretty expensive - imo - for a piece of Costa Rican toobuh case trim - that may-or-may-not stay put.
...so I'm guessing that - so far - you haven't shredded any of the Tolex...

Pull off the other one, and the sides match.
If you ever encounter a crapped out school owned-or-discarded GWW case (which - miraculously - still sports one or two of them) harvest it/them and stick it/them on your case.
In the meantime, revisit that C-sharp melodic minor scale.

I was kind of hoping one of our members might have one of those crapped out cases or a bin of salvaged parts and has one of these they might be willing to part with.
