King sousaphone hustle gig for a tubaforumer

Post by bloke »

another "nothing super-tricky" gig...just a bunch of non-stop upper-body exercise...OK: combined with a bit of a critical eye, I suppose...

> lotsa dents removed
> valves vented
> a few extra skinny felts (valve throw was a bit too far)
> neck now tightens

This is a REALLY nice-playing sousaphone.
Dammit...I want it (Velcro...?? and all).

I love those Kings.

I see you've taught it to do a headstand, too.

yeah...I tilted it up toward the (typical eBay sousaphone) all-smushed-in side.

It could sure use a couple of cans of oven cleaner...couldn't it?

probably X .44, if referring to those made back during the H.N. White era, and less - if later.
