WTB: Marcinkiewicz N4 Mouthpiece

Post by yubatuba »

Hey All!

Looking to buy a used Marcinkiewicz N4 mouthpiece. Doesn’t need to be in perfect condition. If you have one you’re willing to let go, please PM here.

Thanks!
Garrett

If you end up not locating one, I have the next size up, the very slightly (1.5+mm) deeper N3. (Otherwise, all specs are identical). I use an N1S; the N3 came in a package trade deal, and I never use it.

I'm thinking that this was a model of mouthpiece that Tommy Johnson liked.

yeah...I don't mind the small throat (N4)...I've become accustomed to those (when they are helpful), but the N rim is "distracting" to me.

I believe the N4 I have has TJ or something similar stamped on it.

I only witnessed him playing once (though it was that multi-movement suite for tuba and woodwind quintet ...OK...typing outrunning memory: Armand Russell, and I was right there in front of him) but I seem to recall that he (Johnson) was an "up-streamer".

' anyone else ever close enough to have noticed?

Snapped a few pics. I picked this up somewhere as NOS (new old stock) a couple of years back. Can’t remember where.
