Since getting my miraphone 190 last summer, I haven’t been playing my Eastman much. Going back to b flat full time. Horns I would consider: Fafner, fasolt,Eastman 825.open to suggestion.Really want a 5valve, 4 considered. 9000 cash if a straight sale. Couple dings and scratches. With original hard case. In person deals always preferred. The miraphone 190 would be for sale after my new b flat acquired

I'll be interested in what you decide to acquire and why, and - as the 836 is popular, and you take very good care of your equipment - I predict that it will sell quickly.
I'm a small-'taters working tuba player (and maybe you're a notch above small-'taters), but I just don't know of too many other American working players who have played C instruments for decades, YET completely ditched them and *migrated (back to) B-flat (after "all these years").

Tater tot, at best.I’m not auditioning any more and my orchestra barely even(or not at all) notices what horn I show up with. Seeking new sounds and challenges. Keeping things somewhat fresh. Same basic reason you’re playing ole F B.

Picking up a big B-flat and playing those open pitches...
...addictive.

Re: Eastman 836 silver for sale or possible trade
That's a good kaiser/American 6/4 hybrid blend. Labeled as 5/4 instruments, these 6/4 instruments tend to be the best in tune of all of the RM designs, ironically. I spent some time with a B-flat repairing it for a customer, and it seemed to offer equally good intonation compared to a C, which I owned later. The thing I don't like about those 6/4 size instruments (which are labeled 5/4) is that they sound like Conn 6/4 instruments, due to their bell shape, and I'm just not personally really fond of that type of sound. Also, I judge their mouthpipes as being too large, but I remedied that on my instrument.

Mine had a smaller leadpipe, too, and although I was never able the compare it against the "before," I did enjoy the "after." I enjoyed the sound and found it wonderfully easy to play.
But, it's gone now...

The Eastman 562 would be the direct comparison, but yes, point taken.
