Besson/Boosey 3 valve compensating euphonium

Post by tylerferris1213 »

I have loved playing my 3 valve compensating euph for some years now, and a friend of mine has fallen in love with it after I let him borrow it. Does anyone have one kicking around that they'd want to sell? My friend would also consider a 4 valve version for the right price. Feel free to respond here or shoot me an email at tylerferris1213@gmail.com for a faster response. I'm an instrument repair tech as well so if you have one that needs work, even better!

I have one I woukd let go for 500, it plays great. It didn't have any lacquer when I bought it, so spent quite a bit of time polishing it and giving it a nitro lacquer job

I have a hard case for it, don't know how much shipping would be. I really hate shipping horns because of the expense and the chance of damage. I'd almost rather just wrap the thing in a bunch of bubble wrap and ship it that way without the case. I coujd throw in an older reunion blues gig bag I have. Zipper works... Most of the time...

Mark,

That thing looks waaaaay better than mine! haha. I assume plating on the pistons is good? Let's talk. Feel free to email me or text/call at 567-208-6483. I'm at work, but I could probably step out for a few minutes to talk.

There are a number of these on ebay as well.

Pretty much all for more than $500 and probably less knowledgable sellers?

I likely will also look into getting one if i ever decide i'm a baritone euphonium player...

My handful of times playing 3 valve comp have not been enough for me to get over feeling vaguely out of tune with others, more because i rarely give tuning the attention it deserves, but perhaps a little because because some notes at least, they are out of tune with me?

I really like 3=1+2 exactly rather than just approximately!
